Inspiring learning for a fairer future

Global Teachers Network

On Tuesday, Dec 12th we had a very positive meeting with teachers from as far away as Fort William enthusiastically sharing ideas and discussing plans for the future.

We usually have two teachers giving a presentation about global citizenship activities they have been involved in, and this time we had two excellent presentations from practitioners.

We heard firstly from Katie Hanson, a Biology teacher at Culloden Academy, on her involvement of global citizenship education in the classroom, and her experiences on a recent trip to Rwanda with Global Learning Partnerships. We were then treated to a presentation from James Cook, QIO for the Northern Alliance, on using picture books to develop Equality, Diversity and Children's Rights across the Broad General Education (3-15).

We are now on the look-out for volunteers to share their global citizenship activities at the next meeting in the summer term. Please get in touch if you would be interested.
