Philosophy for Global Citizenship - Twilight

Philosophy for Global Citizenship is an enquiry-based approach which stimulates structured discussion of global issues.

Using a variety of stimuli (virtual reality, text, photo, film) participants will learn how to facilitate a community of enquiry.

This approach supports learners to generate and reflect on philosophical questions using stimulating real-life global contexts. Plilosophy for Global Citizenship supports pupils to improve their thinking and commmunication skills, their confidence adn self-esteem and their knowledge andx understanding of issues.

Key points

Using virtual reality as one stimulus for discussion, course participants will:

  • Gain an understanding of the principles of a philosophical approach to teaching Global Citizenship.
  • Gain confidence in using a philosophical approach, through participation in activities.
  • Receive resource ideas which can be used as stimuli for discussion.
  • Have the opportunity to network with other practitioners.
  • Browse and borrow resources.
