Practising Anti-Racist Education

Wednesdays 18 & 25 November 5 - 6.30pm

A two-part interactive online seminar for secondary teachers of all subject areas to develop your knowledge and understanding of racism, power and privilege, critically reflect on your own practice and feel more confident and skilled to act as an anti-racist educator in your school. Delivered by educators from the Glasgow-based Anti-Racist Educator collective, as part of the Start the Change project.

 


Webinar 1: Critical Conversations about Race
Overview of the complexities of race and racism in Scottish education, with an introduction to a framework for productive and mutual conversations about race in education.

Webinar 2: Practising Anti-Racism in the Classroom
Presenting accessible approaches to anti-racist education which encourage participants to reflect on their own practice, with the help of decolonial theory and culturally-relevant pedagogy.
