Climate Learning, Climate Action: A Toolkit for Primary Teachers

This practical and interactive 3 - part course supports primary teachers to increase knowldedge, skills and confidence to explore the current climate crisis with learners. The sessions will equip participants with a range of active learning methodologies and resources to explore climate change from the science through to climate justice, and beyond climate anxiety to climate action.

Session 1 -  Wednesday 27th January 4.30-6pm
  • An introduction to climate change from a local to a global perspective
  • Climate change, social justice and the Sustainable Development Goals

Session 2 -  Tuesday 9th February 4.30 - 6pm

  • Climate action and pupil participation
  • A mock global climate negotioation (based on a UN COP meeting)
  • Towards COP 26 Glasgow 2021

Session 3 - Wednesday 24th March 5-6pm

  • Case studies from around the world
  • Resource share and cascading good practice

At the end of the course, participants will receive a free resource pack to support teaching and learning
