What is on offer?
There are a number of professional learning courses which we offer on Global Citizenship. They consist of 1 or 2 workshop sessions, followed by a session which will focus on reflection and sharing good practice. This will support your professional learning and the new GTCS professional update.
Our approach to global learning encompasses rights and ‘Learning for Sustainability’ and connects directly to the Curriculum for Excellence.
All courses are all fully funded.
What is my commitment?
We would like you to attend 2 or 3 sessions (depending on the programme) and to try out some activities or ideas before attending the final session. We will also ask you to complete a teacher questionnaire on your understanding of Global Citizenship and a school audit on how Global Citizenship is currently being delivered in your school. Both documents are designed to support schools and teachers on their journey to developing good practice in global learning.
Who is delivering the programme?
Highland One World is one of six global learning centres across Scotland that is recognised as the provider of CLPL for the Global Learning Programme Scotland. This programme is also being delivered in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
How do I get involved?
You can register for any of our courses currently being offered through the Highland Council CLPL calendar, or you can contact us directly to discuss what we could deliver for your school or local authority.
