Inspiring learning for a fairer future

Smallholder Farmers Roadshow - Inverness

Thursday, 04 June 2015 00:00

The Scottish Fairtrade Forum, Just Trading Scotland and Christian Aid will be facilitating a morning of free workshops on Saturday 20th June at the Crown Church Hall, Inverness from 10:30am - 1pm. Special guest now confirmed!

The groups are joining forces to spread the message about smallholder farmers and their importance around Scotland. Go along to hear about how they are at the forefront of climate change, how they are developing business models and how fair trade can make a difference in their lives.

There will also be a special guest at the event, Howard Msukwa, a smallholder rice farmer from Malawi who will share about his life and his work with Just Trading Scotland. Howard has been involved in a project where pedal-driven threshing machines have been introduced in Malawi. This year the Balmore Trust has been awarded £60,000 by the Scottish government to introduce these threshing machines into Malawi.
